Wanted: Dead or Alive (1987)

In the gritty underbelly of Los Angeles, we find Nick Randall (Rutger Hauer), a seasoned bounty hunter with a past steeped in C.I.A operations, chasing down society's most notorious outlaws. His ultimate goal? To accumulate enough rewards to restore an old boat and retire into a tranquil life of global exploration with his girlfriend Terry (Mel Harris) and trusted friend Detective Danny Quintz (William Russ). But life has a cruel twist in store for Randall. A descendant of the character originally portrayed by Steve McQueen in the television series of the same name, Randall is abruptly dragged back into the perilous world of international terrorism following a horrific attack in a movie theater. The target is the nefarious terrorist Malak Al Rahim (Gene Simmons), responsible for the ruthless extermination of over 140 innocent lives. However, behind the scenes, Randall's former C.I.A. handler, John Lipton (Jerry Hardin), manipulates the situation, using Randall as bait to ensnare Malak. This dangerous game of cat and mouse turns deadly when Terry and Danny fall victim to the terrorists, pushing Randall into a vortex of vengeance. As Randall discovers Malak's monstrous plan to annihilate thirty thousand people by destroying a chemical facility, he becomes embroiled in a deadly race against time. Randall is now driven not just by duty, but by a personal vendetta against Malak. The stakes are higher than ever before, and the hunter becomes the hunted in this high-octane thriller where the line between the good guys and the bad guys blurs, and survival is the only victory.
