Venom (2005)

In the murky, snake-infested swamps of Louisiana, a story of terror unfolds as Eric and his teenage friends venture south on their motorbikes. They journey to a forgotten backwater town, the last known home of Sean's estranged father Ray – a tow truck driver with a mysterious past. Ray's life meets a chilling end whilst attempting to rescue a voodoo witch from a doomed car. The witch's suitcase, a vault for the possessed serpents that carry the souls of despicable sinners, is inadvertently opened, releasing its venomous captives. Ray, bitten and possessed, sinks with the car into the swamp's dark abyss. When the car is pulled from the murky depths, Ray emerges, twisted beyond recognition. He is now an undead entity, consumed by a blood-thirst for malevolence, impervious to mortal weapons and driven to murder without provocation. His rampage of terror leaves a trail of bodies in his wake, from the unsuspecting coroner to innocent teenagers. With an insatiable desire for souls, Ray proves his indiscriminate evil by targeting even his own kin. In a desperate search for answers, Eden, one of the surviving teenagers, and her friends turn to Cece, the granddaughter of the voodoo witch and a guardian of ancient secrets. As they navigate the labyrinth of voodoo lore, they find sanctuary in Cece's home — protected by an age-old spell that barricades evil at its doorstep. But Ray, armed with chains and a crowbar, finds a way to breach the shield, compelling them to flee their haven. The battle for survival moves to the tomb of the voodoo witch, where the source of the evil resides. With the charm given by Cece and a newfound understanding of voodoo, Eden becomes the last line of defense against the undead terror. Enclosed within the sarcophagus walls, she engages in a desperate fight to the death, testing her courage and the power of voodoo against an enemy that is already beyond the veil of mortality. In this eerie tale, the line between the living and the undead blurs, leaving the audience wondering who will survive in the face of relentless evil.
