In the bustling urban landscape of Chennai, a tenacious television journalist named Bharati (Genelia) is on a mission to expose the corruption that has infiltrated the highest echelons of society. Unbeknownst to her, she's on a collision course with a sinister network of terrorists, covertly backed by the state's Home Minister, who are on a quest to destabilize the city with a series of destructive bombings. After a harrowing sting operation goes awry, Bharati finds herself brutally assaulted and her companions dead. In a twist of fate, the very thugs responsible for her ordeal are killed in a tragic accident. Deeply affected by these events, Bharati concocts an imaginary vigilante named Velayudham, declaring his intent to purge the city of its criminal elements. Unrelated to her machinations, in a quaint village far removed from the city's chaos, lives a humble milkman named Velayudham (Velu). He leads a simple life, devoted to his younger sister and pined after by his lovestruck cousin, Vaidehi (Hansika). Fate leads Velu to Chennai, intending to collect money he had saved for his sister's wedding. In the city, Velu's path intertwines with Bharati's. Unexpected circumstances thrust him into the role of the fictional superhero Velayudham. Initially an unsuspecting villager who inadvertently thwarts several terrorist attacks, Velu is persuaded by Bharati to embrace his newfound identity. As he dons the mantle of the city's protector, Velu is drawn into a tumultuous battle against the twin demons of terrorism and corruption that threaten to engulf Chennai. His journey from an everyday milkman to a revered crusader forms the pulse of this gripping tale.
