Upside-Down Magic (2020)

Unveiled in the Disney Channel Original Movie, "Upside-Down Magic," we follow the magical journey of 13-year-old Nory Boxwood Horace, a charming misfit who possesses the quirky ability to morph into peculiar animals, and her best friend Reina Carvajal, a fiery prodigy who can masterfully manipulate flames. As they embark on their adventure at the illustrious Sage Academy for Magical Studies, their disparate magical abilities lead them down divergent paths. Reina, with her potent mastery over fire, quickly rises to the top of her class, the 'Flares,' becoming the embodiment of magical perfection. Nory, however, finds herself classified as an unconventional outlier due to her erratic magic and her peculiar transformations into a 'Dritten'—an enchanting blend of a kitten and a dragon. This lands her in a separate class for those with 'Upside-Down Magic,' also known as UDM. Under the skeptical gaze of Headmaster Knightslinger, who considers the UDM’s unorthodox powers a vulnerable gateway to the dangerous and sinister 'shadow magic,' Nory and her UDM classmates are determined to challenge these misconceptions. Driven by a compelling desire to prove their worth, they embark on a quest to demonstrate that sometimes, magic that isn't quite right can be more powerful than any textbook spell, and that Upside-Down Magic might just beat right side up.
