Plot

Immersed in the vivid tapestry of the 1980s, Underground Rendezvous tells the tale of a determined young man, the eldest offspring of a destitute family, who embarks on a journey to Seoul with dreams of becoming a teacher. Misfortune strikes quickly, however, and his dreams are seemingly shattered when his money is pilfered and his belongings vanish into the bustling cityscape. Nevertheless, fortune smiles upon him as he stumbles upon a quaint, remote town, a place thirsting for a teacher to enlighten their children. As he takes up this mantle, he is drawn into a swirling romance with a mysterious woman, her origins shrouded in enigma, her roots said to be somewhere in the elusive North. Exuding an aura of intrigue, the town holds a secret as deep as the tunnel they've clandestinely carved beneath the earth. A tunnel that weaves a clandestine link to another town, hidden beyond the borders in North Korea. Underground Rendezvous is a captivating tale of love, dreams, and cross-border connections woven into the fabric of two distant communities.
