True Bloodthirst (2012)

In a world not far removed from our own, the city of Bucharest, Romania, serves as the backdrop to an uncanny future where the balance of life lies in the hands of those who were once considered creatures of the night. The human population is dwindling, creating an eerie silence, while the vampire population is burgeoning, their whispers growing louder. A decade ago, these vampires stepped out from the shadowy corners of folklore and into the glare of everyday life, walking openly amongst the human population. The coexistence of humans and vampires, once unthinkable, is made possible by the introduction of a synthetic blood substitute. This remarkable scientific breakthrough, developed by an independent pharmaceutical firm and endorsed by the Romanian government, renders traditional vampire feeding unnecessary, eliminating their need to prey on humans. However, this precarious peace teeters on the edge, the tension palpable in the city's air. Not everyone is at ease with their new fanged neighbors. As the vampires adjust to their new lifestyle, they are corralled into a private district. This relocation, however, only fans the flames of social strife, and relations between humans and vampires begin to simmer, threatening to boil over. The uneasy peace is further jeopardized by a series of gruesome murders that claim victims from both sides of the divide, stirring fear and suspicion in equal measure. To quell the rising panic and unravel the mystery, the government agency responsible for maintaining human-vampire rights and laws reluctantly partners with a notorious group of vampire hunters. This unlikely alliance is further complicated when they are forced to team up with a coterie of the vampire elite. Together, they tread a path fraught with danger and mistrust, their mission clear - to identify, track, and hunt down the perpetrators behind the blood-chilling murders. In this altered Bucharest, the stakes are high, and the line between predator and prey blurs. As the two species grapple with their new reality, the question remains - can they truly coexist, or is their peace as fleeting as a vampire's shadow at dawn?
