Plot

In the glitz and glamour of Hollywood's renowned Trocadero restaurant and night-spot, a seasoned newspaper columnist and nationally recognized radio host finds himself on the hunt for a captivating tale for his widely-read Sunday column. Known for his knack of interviewing more Hollywood personalities than any other commentator, he finds his next big story in the most unexpected of places. Eddie LeBaron, the charismatic owner, band-leader, and heart of the Trocadero, steps into the limelight, spinning an intriguing saga of this legendary screenland haunt. The story unfolds to a backdrop of enchanting music, delivered by four of Hollywood's leading bands, including the rhythmically intoxicating Bob Chester. Chester, a top-tier saxophonist who found fame with the bands of Ben Pollack and Ben Bernie before launching his own swing band in 1935, makes his screen debut with the captivating Ida James. Their performance kicks off with the unforgettable "Shoo Shoo Baby," setting the stage for a tale of Hollywood nightlife that is as much an auditory feast as it is a visual spectacle. The Trocadero becomes more than a setting; it's a character, a living, pulsating entity that encapsulates the magic of show business.
