Plot

In the hilariously absurd adventure that is Transylmania, the bumbling American student Rusty masterminds a six-month student exchange program in Romania for his tight-knit group of friends, with the secret agenda of meeting his online love, Draguta. The motley crew includes the stoner duo Pete and Wang, Pete's girlfriend Lia and her identical twin Danni, the dreamy romantic Newmar and his scatterbrained girlfriend Lynne, the geeky Brady with his sexually bewildered roommate Mike, and the mischievous Cliff. Unbeknownst to Rusty, his friends have their sights set on a wild party rather than academic pursuits. Their journey to Razvan University via train unfolds a chilling tale from half a millennium ago. The vampire Radu, after losing his cherished Stephania, has kept her body intact while relentlessly searching for a music box trapping her spirit. After the music box is retrieved by one of Radu's minions, it inadvertently ends up in Newmar's possession, who gifts it to the unsuspecting Lynne. The moment she opens the music box, Stephania's spirit takes over her body, setting the stage for an uproarious supernatural encounter. Upon their arrival at the university, they are greeted by the eccentrically diminutive Dean Floca, who also turns out to be Draguta's father and harbors an unspeakable secret: a grotesque hunchback and a sadistic streak that manifests itself in a basement torture chamber reserved for his daughter's ill-fated suitors. As Radu - who bears an uncanny resemblance to Rusty - makes his way to the university, an unfathomably convoluted situation awaits the unsuspecting American students. The stage is set for a riotous collision of comedy, horror, and slapstick romance in the heart of Transylvania.
