Plot

In the heart of this captivating cinematic journey, To See the Sea, we find Tomas, a 12-year-old with a newfound passion for filmmaking. Gifted with a camera, Tomas embarks on a quest to document the world around him, focusing primarily on his enigmatic father who works from home. Unveiling a mysterious pattern through his clandestine filming, Tomas stumbles upon the elusive truth that his father slips away from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays, a fact his father stubbornly denies. As Tomas diligently probes into this family mystery, he inadvertently uncovers the dark shadows obscuring his best friend Haris' life. Haris, inspired by Tomas, begins to use the camera as a shield and a weapon, an escape from his volatile father's wrath and a means to protect his mother and brother. Shot and edited with the raw authenticity of a twelve-year-old's perspective, To See the Sea immerses us in a world where innocence intersects with harsh reality. The narrative unfolds through the lens of Tomas and Haris, their courage and deep-seated friendship guiding them towards a startling revelation and an unforeseen denouement. This film offers a unique vantage point, allowing viewers to witness the world through the unfiltered eyes of a child, full of curiosity, resilience, and unyielding hope.
