In the peaceful embrace of marital bliss, the mature couple, William Lasserre, a retired meteorologist, and his accomplished businesswoman wife, Madeleine, bask in the tranquility of their well-structured life, their love for each other undimmed by the years. Madeleine, a keen and talented painter, finds inspiration on her strolls through the stunning Vercors region of the Alps.
On one such walk, her path crosses that of the town's cultured blind mayor, Adam, and she discovers a quaint rural farmhouse that captures her heart. This idyllic dwelling quickly becomes a shared dream for the Lasserre couple. Life, it seems, is an almost perfect painting.
But as fate would have it, Adam and his vibrant young wife, Eva, face a sudden stroke of misfortune. As pillars of the community, William and Madeleine open their home and hearts to their troubled neighbours, offering a haven filled with warmth and generosity.
