Plot

In the heart of the concrete jungle of Los Angeles, a group of problem-riddled teenagers find themselves ripped from their chaotic urban lives and thrust into an inner-city wilderness project aimed at realigning their skewed priorities. Led by the well-intentioned duo, Holly and Charles, they embark on a journey that promises to reconnect them with nature's fundamental truths. Among them is Tyler, a young man scarred by a chilling experience in the woods during his formative years. Pinning his hopes on this mountain wilderness retreat, he aims to confront and conquer the lingering shadows of his past. Unbeknownst to him and his fellow campers, a formidable foe lurks in the untamed wild, a menace far more terrifying than their personal demons. Local marijuana cultivators, in their reckless pursuit of accelerated growth, have been using potent herbal steroids. Their leaky steroid system, a haphazard Rube Goldberg contraption, has been steadily spilling toxic sludge into the surrounding ecosystem. The unintended consequence? The area's benign wood ticks have morphed into monstrous, rat-sized killers oozing with slimy malevolence. As the teens struggle to adapt to their new rustic lifestyle, the mutated ticks begin to emerge from the shadows. The campers soon realize that returning to life's basic priorities is a far lesser challenge than surviving the nightmare that their wilderness retreat has become. In the vastness of the forest, they must now face the terrifying reality of nature gone awry, battling not just for their sanity but for their very lives.
