Plot

Torn between his livelihood and an unforeseen obsession, Captain Nolan, a seasoned fisherman and owner of a sturdy fishing vessel, finds himself lured by the potential wealth an orca whale could bring. Inspired by the enlightening discourse of biologist Rachel Bedford, he embarks on a perilous endeavor to capture one of these majestic creatures. The mission, however, takes a tragic turn, resulting in the death of a pregnant orca and her offspring. In the wake of this calamity, a vengeful male orca, haunted by the loss of his family, rises from the depths. With relentless fury, he targets Captain Nolan and his crew, throwing the tranquil coastal town into a state of terror. The once serene harbor becomes an arena of chaos as the orca embarks on a rampage, exacting retribution for the lives taken from him. Under the weight of the villagers' growing anxiety and the guilt of his actions, Captain Nolan, alongside Rachel and an enigmatic Native American, are forced to pursue the mighty beast. Unwittingly, they find themselves drawn into the orca's watery domain, setting the stage for a harrowing confrontation on the orca's own turf. The story of Orca (1977) is a gripping tale of man versus nature, where the line between hunter and hunted becomes dangerously blurred.
