Plot

In the labyrinth of adolescence, Justin, a teenager, finds solace not in the typical teenage escapades but in the peculiar comfort of his thumb. He's trapped in an oral obsession that seems as normal as breathing to him, a solace his seemingly ordinary housekeeper mother can't comprehend, her mind consumed by a clandestine infatuation with a TV-star. Justin's father, a conscientious store manager, is the only one privy to this obsession, his well-intentioned advice falling on deaf ears. In a desperate attempt to divert Justin's focus, he's enrolled in a debate workshop. But his mind is elsewhere, captivated by a charming classmate and the ever-present allure of his thumb, resulting in a troubling academic performance. He becomes a solitary figure at school, preferring the solitude of bathroom stalls over the company of his peers, where he can freely indulge in his thumb-sucking habit. A ray of hope appears when Justin's dentist, a figure radiating mystic-hippie vibes, attempts to free Justin from his thumb's magnetic pull through hypnosis. But the school psychologist has a different diagnosis for Justin - Attention Deficit Disorder, prescribing a cocktail of drugs as the remedy. Suddenly, the thumb that held Justin captive is forgotten, replaced by a whirlwind of hyperactivity that catapults him to debate championship victories and earns him the adulation of his teacher. However, as Justin's obsession with his thumb recedes, a new wave of challenges crash onto his shore. He must navigate the stormy seas of familial discord and the treacherous whirlpools of drug addiction. Justin's journey is a vivid exploration of the tumultuous terrain of adolescence, where each thumb-sucking moment and hyperactive triumph brings him closer to understanding the complex tapestry of life.
