Plot

In the spectral gloom of 1932 Vienna, a figure of eternal elegance and nocturnal melancholy, Count Geza von Közsnöm, finds himself ensnared in a ceaseless dance of marital discontent. His eternally unfulfilled wife, the ever-sensitive vampiress Countess Elsa, only amplifies his existential ennui. Driven by the crushing weight of immortality and the haunting echoes of a love lost half a millennium ago, the tormented vampire seeks solace on the rug-draped couch of the eminent psychoanalyst, Sigmund Freud. Unbeknownst to Freud, his latest patient's issues run far deeper than typical human neurosis. As the Count shares tales of his wife's vanity, lamenting her inability to gaze upon her own reflection, Freud remains oblivious to their undead nature. In a bid to unravel the Count's complex psyche, he introduces him to Viktor, a young artist whose paintings capture the soul more vividly than any mirror. A visit to the artist's studio, however, sparks a chain of metaphysical complications. Lucy, Viktor's bohemian fiancée, bears an uncanny resemblance to the Count's long-lost lover, chilling his undead heart. This unanticipated attraction stirs a whirlwind of emotions, much to the disapproval of Viktor and the Countess. In a world where vows of eternal love hold a literal meaning, the immortal couple, Geza and Elsa, are left grappling with their timeless marital strife. Navigating the labyrinth of love, loss, and eternal existence, Therapy for a Vampire is a darkly comic exploration of the complexities of forever. Will the undead duo manage to endure each other for eternity, or will the specter of the past lead them down a different path? An eternal love story, haunted by history, painted in strokes of psychoanalysis, and set against the backdrop of a melancholic Vienna.
