Plot

In the shadowy underworld of Queens' rail yards, the city's subway cars are revamped and resurrected. Here, corruption runs as rampant as the trains themselves; contracts are gold mines, breeding graft and deceit. Fresh from prison, Leo Handler finds himself entangled in this web of intrigue when he discovers his aunt has wed Frank Olchin, a prominent contractor locked in a fierce battle for contracts against a minority-owned firm. Leo's childhood comrade, Willie Gutierrez, is not just Frank's right hand, but also the leader of a covert sabotage crew, operating under the shroud of midnight, to thwart the rival Puerto Rican firm's progress. Desperate for a fresh start, Leo finds himself drawn into this clandestine world, serving as Willie's under-the-radar back-up. But one ill-fated night twists the course of Leo's life again, pushing him further into the murky depths of this corruption-riddled universe. With a cop on his tail and his newfound allies turning against him, Leo finds himself cornered. His only solace lies in his ailing mother and Erica, his cousin who is as entangled in this chaos as he is. As the rail yards echo with the clanging of metal and the whispers of deceit, Leo is left to navigate the treacherous tracks of morality and survival, his hope for redemption hanging by a thread. Will he find his way out of this labyrinth of corruption, or will he become another lost soul in the yards? The outcome of his journey is as unpredictable as the twists and turns of the city's sprawling subway system.
