Plot

In an age where companionship often eclipses maternal bonds, 10-year-old Sun finds herself on the fringes of her school's social hierarchy. Amidst the languid days of summer vacation, she encounters Jia, a newcomer to the town. As Sun unveils the neighborhood's secrets and they indulge in innocent play in each other's houses, an intimate friendship blossoms. However, as the new academic year dawns, Jia senses an unsettling undercurrent between Sun and their classmates. Longing for acceptance, Jia attempts to penetrate the elite circle of 'cool kids', gradually drifting away from Sun. In the intricate and fragile universe of childhood, where emotions run deep and alliances are transient, the two girls unwittingly wound and are wounded in return. An exploration of friendship, belonging, and the often underestimated complexities of young hearts, The World of Us is a poignant journey into the delicate labyrinth of childhood relationships.
