Plot

In the year of political unrest and cultural revolution, 1965, a wildfire ignited by the defiant adolescent, Heather Fasulo, sets the stage for a tale shrouded in mystery and mysticism. Confronted with their daughter's rebellious antics, her distant mother, Alice, and her disregarded father, Joe, decide to send her to Falburn Academy, a secluded boarding school nestled deep within an ominous woodland. Despite the family's financial hardship, the stern and enigmatic Dean, Ms. Traverse, welcomes Heather with an unreadable expression. In the heart of the foreboding forest, Heather forms an unlikely bond with the peculiar Marcy Turner, their friendship growing like a rare flower in the shadowy undergrowth. Together, they endure the relentless torment of their cruel peer, Samantha Wise, whose malevolence echoes through the ancient trees. As the moon takes the sky each night, Heather is haunted by unsettling dreams and whispers that seem to seep from the forest itself, a chilling symphony that hints at the school's arcane secrets. When students start disappearing, vanishing as if swallowed by the woods, Heather's suspicions grow. She becomes convinced that the school is a haven for witchcraft, a sinister coven cloaked by the guise of education. With her friend Marcy among the missing, Heather fears she might be next. As her world unravels, she must decipher the secrets that the woods hold, or risk becoming another lost soul in Falburn Academy's eerie tale.
