Plot

Nestled in the heartland of Missouri, a timeless tradition endures. Under the shroud of darkness, the rural folks come alive with the thrill of nocturnal fox hunts, their faithful hounds leading the chase. This serene harmony is disrupted when an outsider, Jacob Terry, stakes his claim on the land and introduces an alien species - sheep. His decision to erect a woven wire fence stirs unease among the locals, who fear their beloved hounds will come to harm. Jacob's stern warning to shoot any trespassers, canine or human, only further fans the flames of discord. Amid this brewing tension, love blossoms between Bengy Davis and Jacob's daughter, Camden Terry, weaving an intricate web of personal and communal conflict. When one fateful night the melodious voice of Bugle Ann, the prized hound, falls ominously silent, the entire region braces itself. Armed with guns and fueled by mounting animosity, both factions prepare to face off, promising a showdown that will determine the fate of their cherished traditions and the future of their close-knit community.
