Plot

Basking in the glow of her successful career as a renowned novelist based in Atlanta, Abby Houston finds herself both blessed and cursed. Her life is brimming with accomplishment, yet a void remains in her heart - the absence of love. Abby, a middle-aged divorcée, contemplates withdrawing from the fruitless quest for romance, disinterested in her mother's attempt to rekindle a spark with high school sweetheart, Steve Marshall. With her latest bestseller in hand, Abby embarks on a promotional tour, unexpectedly steering her journey towards a small detour - Bliss, Mississippi. A quaint bookstore owned by her friend, Susan Marie, nestled in the heart of Bliss, is a stop Abby chooses against her publicist Jamie's advice. The moment Abby steps foot in Bliss, the townsfolk - who seem to have sprung to life from her own enchanting tales - are smitten. They envision a perfect match between Abby and their charismatic mayor, a notion Abby dismisses initially. However, upon discovering that the mayor is the charming widower, Spencer Alexander, and not the older Phil she had assumed, an undeniable attraction takes root. Spencer, too, finds himself drawn to Abby, but their path to love is not a straight line. The idyllic town of Bliss transforms into an eager audience, rooting for their union, yet potentially jeopardizing it with their overzealous matchmaking efforts. Abby and Spencer's blossoming romance must also consider the emotions of Spencer's children, Mary Ellen and Kyle Edwards. Adding to the mix is the possessive Lorraine, who has long considered Spencer hers, and potentially other unknown rivals lurking in the shadows, all vying for either Abby or Spencer's affection. The Town That Came A-Courtin' is a heartwarming tale of Abby's unexpected journey from being labeled "unlucky in love" by her hometown of Dexter, Georgia, to finding a glimmer of hope in the most unlikely place - Bliss, Mississippi. Will Abby finally find the love she's been yearning for, or will the intense pressure and competition tear apart what could be a beautiful romance? This story, based on Ronda Rich's bestselling novel, captures the essence of love, community, and the unpredictable twists of fate.
