Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989)

Wayne Szalinski is a scientist and inventor who works out of a laboratory in his attic. He is married with two kids and lives next door to Russ and Mae Thompson, who also have two kids. The families frequently quarrel over each other's lifestyles. One day, one of the Thompson's kids accidentally hits a baseball into Wayne's laboratory. All four kids traipse up to the attic and are shrunk by Wayne's shrinking machine, which no one realized actually worked - including Wayne. The four shrunken kids must fight to survive their new size while hoping that Wayne can enlarge them once again.
