Plot

In the heart of medieval England, young and valiant Robin Hood (Richard Todd) finds himself drawn into a deadly game of power and deceit. His tranquil life takes a harrowing turn when he and his father participate in an archery contest at the royal palace, only for the journey home to be marred by the brutal murder of his father at the hands of Prince John's (Hubert Gregg) malevolent henchmen. With the love of his life, the radiant Maid Marian (Joan Rice), in his thoughts and a thirst for justice igniting his heart, Robin Hood retreats into the verdant depths of Sherwood Forest. Embracing the life of an outlaw, he assembles his band of merry men, bound by a shared desire to avenge the heinous crime and combat the tyranny of Prince John. Meanwhile, King Richard's absence at the crusades has left England in the iron clutches of Prince John, who rules with merciless severity. The land groans under the weight of excessive taxes, the people's cries for relief falling on deaf ears. The Prince's reign of terror is enforced by the ruthless Sheriff of Nottingham, tasked with both the relentless collection of these crippling taxes and the capture of the elusive outlaw, Robin Hood. This thrilling tale of courage and rebellion unfolds as Robin Hood and his band of loyal men strive to restore justice to the land, their heroic efforts a beacon of hope amidst the despair. Their daring exploits and the captivating love story between Robin and Maid Marian offer a spellbinding blend of adventure, romance and resilience.
