Plot

In the year 2176, America teeters on the brink of collapse. Its illustrious history is nothing but a distant memory, erased by time and forgotten by its people. The world's salvation hinges on a secret from 1776—the nation's founding year. As Dr. Von Mobil, the last living link to that bygone era, breathes his last, he entrusts this cryptic clue to the authorities. Enter Adam-11, a reluctant hero coerced into undertaking a perilous journey back to 1776. Armed with a time machine and a burning desire to escape to the non-existent paradise of Ikiki (Waikiki) Beach, Adam-11 is drawn into this mission by the bewitching Chanel-6 and the promise of enough fuel to reach his tropical dreamland. Rounding off this eclectic trio is Heinz-57, a stickler for the rules. They have twelve nerve-wracking hours to unravel the secrets of the Constitution and return to 2176, or else the world as they know it may cease to exist. However, a twist of fate lands them not in the era of the founding fathers, but in the vibrant heart of 1976. Unaware of this chronological misstep, they seek the assistance of teen slackers Chris Johnson and Tommy Sears. The duo, convinced that Adam-11, Chanel-6, and Heinz-57 are aliens from the future, agree to help them, hoping to outwit their schoolmate Rodney Snodgrass, a science geek with a sinister plan to exploit the time-travelers for his science fair project. As the trio from the future grapple with the flamboyant culture and idiosyncrasies of 1976, believing it to be the key to save their world, they find themselves pursued by the CIA and the relentless Rodney. Amidst this chaos, they must complete their mission and return to 2176, before they become permanent fixtures in a time not their own. The Spirit of '76 is a thrilling ride, filled with adventures that span centuries, a humor that transcends time, and a quest to save the future by understanding the past. It is a vibrant tapestry of 70's nostalgia, futuristic intrigue, and timeless comedy.
