The Spiral (1998)

In the chilling sequel to "Ringu," the enigma of Takayama's death unfurls under the keen scrutiny of his close confidant, the pathologist, Dr. Andô. The labyrinthine mystery deepens when a cryptic note, discovered within the recesses of Takayama's body, draws Andô into a haunting investigation. Touched by personal sorrow following the loss of his child, Andô is irresistibly drawn to a cursed videotape, whispered to be possessed by the restless spirit of a vengefully murdered woman, Sadako. This ominous talisman is said to bestow a deadly prophecy upon its viewers - a fate sealed by death exactly one week after their watch.
