Plot

Amid the traditional confines of the Joseon Dynasty, a melodious rebellion stirs. Shin Jae-hyo, a stern yet passionate songmaster, finds himself at odds with his institution's premier vocalist over the starring role in a groundbreaking opera. Concurrently, the heartfelt yearning of Chae-sun, a woman of humble origins and a past steeped in the shadowy allure of the brothel, echoes through the walls of societal norms. As she dreams of breaking the gender boundaries of the male-dominated singing profession, Shin initially dismisses her audacious requests to audition. However, in a daring act of defiance and determination, Chae-sun dons a masculine guise and delivers a performance that leaves Shin spellbound, leading him to welcome the first female student into his esteemed school. Despite her talent, the path to recognition is fraught with peril. As Shin strives to secure her a spot in a royal ceremony, he incurs the wrath of Daewongun, the king's authoritarian father, resulting in his imprisonment. In the face of this dire circumstance, Chae-sun is left with no choice but to forge a precarious pact with the formidable Daewongun, risking everything in a desperate bid to save her mentor. A resonant tale of ambition, sacrifice, and the transcendent power of music, The Sound of a Flower is a melody that lingers long after the final notes fade.
