Plot

In the shadowy corners of post-war Britain, a French expatriate, Descius Heiss, resides, shrouded in mystery and intrigue. A former Devil's Island prisoner, Heiss runs a quaint antique shop known as Sly Corner, where he conducts shrewd business deals with unsuspecting customers. However, beneath the veneer of the charming antique dealer breathes a darker truth; the shop is a front for his clandestine operations of fencing stolen goods, particularly smuggled diamonds. Heiss's life is not only filled with illegal transactions, but also with a deep love for his beautiful violin-playing daughter, Margaret. As Margaret's melodies echo through the Sly Corner, they form a stark contrast to the underhanded dealings that fund her musical career. The balance in Heiss's life teeters when his shop assistant, the crafty and unscrupulous Archie Fellowes, discovers his secret. Archie, a sniveling young opportunist, exploits this knowledge, blackmailing Heiss in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse. As Archie's audacity escalates, so do the stakes, leading to a deadly turn of events that culminates in a murder and a subsequent police investigation. The plot thickens and reaches its climax in the grand setting of a London concert hall, where Margaret is poised to play the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto. The Shop at Sly Corner is a thrilling blend of deceit, familial bonds, and music, wrapped in a suspenseful narrative that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.
