Once pampered in the opulent estates of India, 10-year-old Mary Lennox finds her world uprooted when a cholera epidemic claims her indifferent, wealthy parents. Sent to the hauntingly beautiful Misselthwaite Manor in Yorkshire, Mary, played by the impassioned Dixie Egerickx, finds herself under the care of her distant Uncle Archibald Craven (Colin Firth) and the stern housekeeper Mrs. Medlock (Julie Walters).
