In the heartland of Oklahoma, Jody Linder, a young woman molded by tragedy and time, has been shaped by the expansive landscapes of her grandparents' ranch. The ranching community, stitched together by shared histories and secrets, is both her sanctuary and the stage for her family's darkest hour. Twelve years prior, her parents were brutally murdered, a crime for which Billy Croyle, a once-fired ranch hand with a penchant for anger and violence, was convicted. Now, he is being released from prison, his sentence commuted due to alleged lack of due diligence, as argued by his son, Colin Croyle. Upon learning of this, Jody's grandfather, along with her Uncles, Chase Linder and Meryl Tapper, implore her to return to the ranch for safety. Jody, a woman shackled by the haunting echoes of her past, is initially incensed by these developments. However, as the local Sheriff Don Phelps reopens the investigation, she finds herself drawn into the vortex of the past, forced to question the narrative she has held onto for over a decade.
