In this charming sequel to the 1993 comedy classic, The Sandlot, a decade has passed and a new generation of youngsters has taken over the iconic dusty diamond. Among the fresh faces are David Durango (Max Lloyd-Jones), the confident leader, Mac McKing (Brett Kelly), the muscle, Saul (Cole Evan Weiss) and his deaf brother, Sammy "Fingers" (Sean Berdy), the quick-witted Tarquell (Neilen Benvegnu), and Johnnie Smalls (James Willson), the wide-eyed younger brother of the original Scotty Smalls. Uniquely, their ranks are graced by a girl, the fierce Hayley Goodfarier (Samantha Burton), adding a twist to this sequel, The Sandlot 2. When Johnnie accidentally propels a model rocket into the forbidden territory known as The Great Fear's yard, the band of friends faces their first true challenge. Aiding their mission is The Retriever (Griffin Reilly Evans), an enigmatic youngster known for snagging lost items but finds The Great Fear's yard a daunting task. The plot thickens as they engage in a heated war of words with Mac and little league captain Singleton (Reece Thompson), adding a dash of humor to the tension. As the kids embark on this perilous adventure, they are watched over by the wise Mr. Mertle, once again brought to life by James Earl Jones. This enchanting tale of camaraderie, courage, and the joy of childhood promises to grip viewers, just as its predecessor did.
