Plot

In an uncharted region of Europe, a trio of actors find themselves ensnared in a twisted web of accusations and insecurities. Hans Winkelmann, the wealthy and self-contained leader of the acting company, his emotionally fragile wife Thea, and his volatile best friend Sebastian Fisher, a man grappling with alcoholism and a clouded past, are thrust onto a legal stage, charged with obscenities. Awaiting them in the wings is the enigmatic Judge Dr. Abrahamson, a man determined to dissect their souls in his courtroom. Each actor is summoned, both collectively and individually, into Abrahamson's office, where their vulnerabilities are laid bare under his relentless scrutiny. Sebastian, struggling with debt and the guilt of a past transgression, is embroiled in a clandestine affair with Thea—a woman perpetually on the brink of emotional collapse. Meanwhile, Hans, despite his financial stability and leadership, battles an internal discontent, growing tired of his role within this complex love triangle. As the judge peels back the layers of their tumultuous relationships, he ignites a potent cocktail of aggression, guilt, and fragility. But the true spectacle unfolds when the actors, pushed to their emotional brink, stage a private exhibition of their scandal-ridden play, The Rite. As the performance unravels, the judge finds himself ensnared in a world that transcends eroticism and obscenity—a world where the actors may ultimately turn the tables in their favor.
