Plot

In the wake of World War I, Larry Darrell, a tormented American fighter pilot turned affluent Chicagoan, becomes disillusioned with the superficiality of his well-to-do existence. He breaks his engagement to the status-seeking Isabel Bradley and embarks on a global odyssey in search of enlightenment, ultimately finding his spiritual mentor in the remote corners of India. Meanwhile, Isabel, caught in the whirlwind of the 1929 financial crash, finds refuge in the opulent Parisian world of her wealthy, social-climbing Uncle Elliot. As fate would have it, Larry, having attained inner peace, crosses paths once more with Isabel in the heart of Paris. During an unexpected encounter in the city's underbelly, they are stunned to find Sophie, a mutual acquaintance from Chicago. Trapped in a cycle of addiction and abuse, Sophie is a tragic shadow of her former self, having lost her family in a heart-wrenching accident. In an attempt to save Sophie from her destructive path, Larry steps in, sparking a complex love triangle. His efforts, however, are undermined by Isabel, who, in her desperation to rekindle their lost romance, sabotages his noble intentions. "The Razor's Edge" weaves an intricate tale of love, loss, and self-discovery, set against the backdrop of a world transitioning from the brutality of war to the glitz and glamour of the Roaring Twenties.
