In the tranquil English countryside of the early 20th century, the peculiar Mooney family resides within a sprawling old house. The house's patriarch, the bedridden 'Pa' Mooney (Douglas Phair), is a former physician believed to be on the brink of his 200th birthday. His primary caregiver is his eldest daughter, Phoebe (Joan Ogden), who also manages the family's vast household. Mortimer (Noel Collins), the eldest son, serves as the family's financier, providing for them through his business ventures. The family's peculiarities extend beyond their living arrangements. The younger daughter, Monica (Hope Stansbury), is a sadistic animal enthusiast, housing live rats and often subjecting them to cruel acts. The youngest son, Malcolm (Berwick Kaler), exhibits animalistic behaviors, leading the family to confine him in a room filled with live chickens. However, beneath this bizarre facade, lies a chilling secret: The Mooneys are a lineage of natural-born werewolves, succumbing to their primal transformations with each full moon. Pa Mooney, with his medical background, has been on a relentless pursuit to eradicate this ancient curse plaguing their family. The plot thickens as the youngest daughter, Diana (Jackie Skarvellis), returns home from medical school, accompanied by her new husband, Gerald (Ian Innes), a pairing that Pa Mooney vehemently disapproves of. Diana, the only member immune to the lunar transformations, is seen as the family's last beacon of hope in breaking the werewolf curse.
