Plot

Summer of 1998 marks a turning point in the world of cycling as the opening stages of Le Tour de France shift to the emerald landscapes of Ireland. Amidst this change, we find our hero, Belgian rider Dom Chabol. A stalwart domestique, Dom has dutifully played the sacrificial role for two decades, battling fierce winds, setting the rhythm, and propelling his team's sprinter to the finish line, all the while setting aside his personal ambition of donning the coveted yellow jersey - if only once. As the wheels of what appears to be his final Tour start spinning, Dom is abruptly ousted from the team he has passionately served. His confidant and team masseur, Sonny, fails to offer any solace about what the future holds. Yet, as the road ahead seems uncertain, a serendipitous encounter with Lynn, a vibrant Irish doctor, eases the sting of rejection. As Dom begins to embrace the allure of an ordinary life, the thought of reuniting with his alienated sister awaits him like a finish line at the end of a challenging race. However, just as he is about to pack up his racing life, a dramatic doping scandal eliminates another member from his team, thrusting Dom back into the saddle. The Racer is a thrilling ride of self-discovery, ambition, and the unpredictable turns life can take, just when you think the race is over.
