In the quaint town of West Minister, Halloween takes a sinister turn when teenager Lynn Starks finds herself the target of a ghoulish prankster donning a pumpkin face mask. Her brother, Jonathan, ensnared by her cries for help, intervenes with carving knife in hand, inadvertently transforming a prank into a tragedy as the mask reveals the face of Lynn's boyfriend Alec. A year later, the siblings seek solace in the seemingly serene town of Carver. As the echoes of their past grow faint, they are swept into the festivities of a local Halloween party in the secluded outskirts of the town. Here, Jonathan, still haunted by the specter of Alec, finds companionship in Tammy, Lynn's friend. But the night's revelry turns to torment as Tammy's ex-boyfriend Lance relentlessly bullies Jonathan. Meanwhile, an ominous figure, his identity hidden behind a pumpkin face mask, stalks the festivities.
