Plot

In the bustling theatre scene of 1959's New York, Max Bialystock, a former titan of Broadway, finds himself in a downward spiral, with every production he touches doomed to close on its opening night. However, fortune takes a curious turn when the path of this fallen impresario crosses with the neurotically brilliant accountant, Leo Bloom. Bloom proposes a daring, almost foolproof plan: to intentionally produce a Broadway flop. By raising more capital than needed and ensuring the show is a spectacular disaster, they could keep the excess funds without suspicion. Embarking on this audacious venture, they select a musical that seems destined for disaster - "Springtime for Hitler," penned by the fugitive Nazi, Franz Liebken. As if this wasn't enough, they enlist the wildly extravagant Roger De Bris to steer the ship as director, and for their leading lady, they choose the eccentric Swedish siren Ulla, whose last name could rival a Shakespearean sonnet in length. As the curtains are set to rise on their seemingly doomed project, the question lingers - what could possibly go wrong? But as they're about to discover, in the world of Broadway, taste is an unpredictable beast...
