In the rugged wilderness of the wild west, a concealed plot brews beneath the surface. Arms are being sold, illicitly, to the Indians, and the task of unveiling the offender falls on the shoulders of the indomitable Calamity Jane and an undercover agent. They weave an intricate web of deception, posing as a married couple to infiltrate the enemy ranks. Tragedy strikes when the agent meets his untimely end, forcing Jane to enlist an unlikely accomplice – the innocuous "Painless" Peter Potter, a hapless dentist with a constitution that leans more toward cowardice than courage, and a burning desire to escape the savage west. Their journey together takes an unexpected turn when their wagon train falls under attack by the very Indians they're investigating. It is here that Jane's sharpshooting prowess comes to the fore, single-handedly thwarting the attack. Yet, in a twist of events, she bestows the acclaim on the unsuspecting Potter. Overnight, he transforms into a revered hero in the eyes of the town, becoming a magnet for danger as he unwittingly draws the attention of both the Indians and the gunrunners.
