In the desolate twilight world of a roadside diner, the lives of those bound to the nocturnal shift unfurl in a medley of loneliness, longing, and lost dreams. The diner's future teeters on the brink of demise under the faltering stewardship of Stu, the owner. His life, marred by alcoholism and infidelity, is attempting a shaky recovery as he navigates a tenuous relationship with his estranged daughter, Jenny. Among the diner's regulars are Jelena, a Serbian mail-order bride turned waitress, now a widow seeking solace in fleeting intimacies. Francine's life, a carousel of casual relationships with Corey's friends, sees a glimmer of hope in the form of Oliver, a new patron. A former banker turned trucker, Oliver is a man in transit, his life on hold as he grapples with his future direction. In this world that exists between dusk and dawn, these night shift souls are caught in a relentless rhythm of existence.
