The Amazons are a race of strong and beautiful women who live in harmony on their own island. This harmony is interrupted when Steve Trevor, an American Air Force pilot, crash lands into the sea nearby. The Amazons are so distracted with rescuing him that the evil war god Ares escapes from their prison. Princess Diana is given the difficult tasks of both returning Steve home and also recapturing Ares.
