The Marsh (2002)

In the eerie corners of 19th century Eastern Europe, exist two societal pariahs, Alexandre and Ulysse. Their lives, marked by rejection and isolation, intertwine, compelling them to seek solace in the solitude of a marsh, a place shrouded in tales of malevolent spirits and mythic creatures. Alexandre, a nomadic soul shunned by his own people, finds an unlikely companion in Ulysse, a man distanced due to his physical anomalies. Their singular existence is disrupted when a peculiar homicide shakes a neighboring village. The superstitious villagers, quick to scapegoat those who don't conform, cast their accusatory glances at Alexandre and Ulysse. Their unusual lifestyle and the mysteries of their marshy haven suddenly become the subject of demonic suspicion. The villagers' fears and prejudice transform Alexandre and Ulysse from mere outcasts to perceived monsters, hunted and feared, pitting them against a tide of hate that seeks to extinguish their existence.
