It's 2035, and humanity has managed to push the giant monsters that have ravaged Earth back through the portal they came in. The people who piloted the giant machines that fought these monsters are forced to find new paths in life. As the son of a hero who helped win the war, Jake Pentecost is living in the shadow of his father — and while he has some serious skills, he makes a living stealing and fencing machine parts in Los Angeles. But when the breach that unleashed the monsters is reopened, Jake may be one of humanity's best hopes for survival.
