The Magician (2006)

Iskender, a struggling magician, finds his career hanging by a thread. Despite his intimate knowledge of every trick in the book, his audiences remain unimpressed. After a disastrous mishap during the classic 'sawing a woman in half' act, even his employer, club owner Ayhan, has had enough. Iskender and his loyal assistant Maradona are left in a lurch, questioning how they'll now afford their rent and much-needed eye surgeries. In a desperate attempt to salvage his career, Iskender proposes a risky plan: a small tour across the rustic landscapes of Anatolia, far from the critical eyes of Istanbul. The only catch is the necessity of his brother-in-law's occupied caravan, home to his grumpy and seemingly senile father, Sait. With no other option in sight, the unlikely trio set off on their journey. To their surprise, Sait proves to be quite the negotiator, scoring them a gig at a village wedding where they're stranded due to car trouble. Reluctantly, Iskender steps onto the stage, unaware of the curveball fate is about to throw his way. In a shocking twist, the bride, Fatma, actually vanishes during one of his tricks. Faced with the mystery of an actual disappearance, Iskender must find a way out of this unexpected predicament and rescue his dwindling magic career.
