The Legend of Hell House (1973)

In the shadow of the cursed Emeric Belasco House, known as Hell House, an unlikely team gathers at the behest of the affluent Mr. Rudolph Deutsch. The group consists of Dr. Lionel Barrett, a pragmatic physicist; Florence Tanner, a sensitive mental medium; and Benjamin Franklin Fischer, a seasoned physical parapsychologist who is the lone survivor of a prior investigation gone awry. Accompanied by Dr. Barrett's wife, Ann, they are united by a common goal: to uncover the chilling truth about life after death. Emeric Belasco, the "Roaring Giant," once used the house as a debauched playground for his orgiastic revelries until he vanished without a trace following a horrific massacre. As the team ventures into the heart of the house, they are confronted by a potent cocktail of terror and intrigue. Florence insists that the house is teeming with entities, among them Belasco's enigmatic son, Daniel. Fischer, hardened by his past experiences, remains guarded, his eyes fixed firmly on the handsome reward promised by Deutsch. The skeptical Dr. Barrett, meanwhile, pins his hopes on a sophisticated machine designed to drain the haunted house of its malignant energy. As they delve deeper into the Hell House's dark past, the team must face a gauntlet of supernatural threats. They must stick together, surviving a week in isolation and the house's relentless assaults on their sanity.
