Room is many things. It's the story of a mother and a son. It's about maternal love and what it means to care for another person. It's also a fascinating psychological examination of what happens when one woman is held captive to many issues. Room takes into the mind of five year Jack and the mother who cares for him deeply. She and her son must make the momentous decision to break free of their chains and find a way to create the life they want. The movie is not about a room. It's about the wider world beyond it.
