In the sweltering heat of a small Texas town, a mysterious drifter named Harry Madox saunters in, his destiny intertwined with the dusty streets and their denizens. He lands a job as a used car salesman at a dealership run by the somewhat shady George Harshaw, and takes up residence in a local hotel. As fate would have it, Harry's keen observation skills lead him to notice the town's bank alarmingly unguarded during a significant fire. The wheels of temptation start turning, and he hatches an ingenious plan to rob the bank, using a carefully crafted distraction.
