Plot

As the third trumpeter in a radio orchestra, our protagonist's reality becomes blurred with dreams during the Paradise Coffee Program, a show powered by the coffee that ironically lulls you to sleep. Whisked away into a celestial slumber, he becomes Athanael, an angel with a divine mission. Guided by the radiant angel Elizabeth, Athanael is tasked by the maestro of heaven's orchestra to herald the end of the world with a single note from his trumpet at the stroke of midnight on Earth. Yet, this divine mission is not without its earthly challenges. Athanael's trumpet, the instrument of destiny, becomes the object of desire for Osidro and Doremus, a pair of fallen angels who have succumbed to the intoxicating allure of the physical world. They conspire with Archie Dexter, a smooth-talking jewel thief, to steal Athanael's trumpet and thwart his divine task. Athanael's first attempt at fulfilling his celestial duty veers off course when he rescues Fran, Archie's accomplice, from a fate worse than any earthly existence. His second chance seems equally doomed when he is forced to trade his trumpet for a meal he cannot afford, rendering him a fallen angel. However, destiny is not easily deterred. Athanael reclaims his trumpet in a thrilling clash against his adversaries on a rooftop, mere seconds from the prophesied midnight. "The Horn Blows at Midnight" spins a tale of celestial duty and earthly desire, where the line between dreams and reality is as thin as the final note of a trumpet echoing at the stroke of midnight.
