Fallen (1998)

John Hobbes felt like he should get a sense of satisfaction watching Edgar Reese fry. The vicious serial killer Detective Hobbes had put away was finally being executed for his crimes, but all he could feel is unease. And then a new series of killings start nearly identical to those committed by Reese. Everyone is convinced that there's a copycat, but Reese's investigation increasingly convinces him of something else — that Reese has somehow returned and is back to his old habits. But what can he possibly do when he discovers the murders are actually the actions of a rogue demon?
