Plot

In the heart of a bustling Parisian summer, we meet Delphine, a solitary secretary grappling with an unexpected dilemma. Her holiday companion cancels two weeks prior to their planned escape, leaving her adrift in a sea of uncertainty. Though the city of love, Paris, is her home, she yearns for companionship and adventure, yet finds herself held back by her seemingly immutable solitude. Despite her apprehensions about traveling alone, she embarks on a journey to Cherbourg, encouraged by a well-meaning friend. Delphine's time in Cherbourg, however, is marred by melancholy and self-pity, prompting her hasty retreat back to Paris. Undeterred, she sets her sights on the majestic Alps, only to return home the same day, the mountain grandeur doing little to fill her pervasive emptiness. But Delphine is not one to surrender. She decides to explore the sun-soaked beaches next, where she encounters an affable Swede. Amid the salt air and the soft roar of the ocean, a tentative friendship begins to blossom. But then, true to her restless spirit, Delphine suddenly flees, heading back to the familiar confines of Paris. Her journey, however, takes an unexpected turn at the Biarritz train station. A chance meeting with a young man sparks a glimmer of hope in her heart. As the sun dips below the horizon, the possibility of witnessing the elusive green ray - a phenomenon as rare and mysterious as the connection she yearns for - awaits. The Green Ray serves as a vivid exploration of loneliness, self-discovery, and the unpredictable tide of human connections.
