Plot

As the dawn of the twentieth century unfurls, the world is spellbound by the exploits of The Great Leslie—an audacious daredevil, an unrivaled Renaissance man, and a beacon of courage, always decked in immaculate white. With an impressive array of world records to his name and his trusty aide, Hezekiah, Leslie faces countless trials of endurance and daring. Yet, his every move is shadowed by the nefarious Professor Fate, a black-clad adversary whose relentless schemes to outsmart or outperform Leslie remain fruitless. In a bid to showcase the marvels of modern engineering, Leslie convinces the Webber Motor Car Company to build the ultimate motor car for a colossal New York to Paris race. The result is the prodigious Leslie Special. However, Professor Fate, never one to be outdone, unveils his own automotive gem, the Hannibal Twin-8, intending to leave no stone unturned—or scheme too dastardly—in his pursuit of victory. Among the thrilling lineup of participants is the enchanting Maggie Dubois, a progressive reporter for the New York Sentinel. Despite being snubbed by Leslie and Fate due to her gender, Maggie's determination sees her securing her own car and a place in the race. Equipped with primitive but groundbreaking technology, she aims to cover the event in real-time, thereby needing to reach the finish line first. Although a champion of emancipation, Maggie isn't above exploiting her feminine charm to gain an edge. As the competitors traverse the globe, from the bustling streets of New York to the icy stretches of the Bering Strait and the vast expanse of Russia, they encounter a plethora of adventures and obstacles. This epic race not only tests their mettle but also alters their perspectives, as they spend countless hours in each other's company. Unpredictable encounters and shifting alliances make this more than just a race—it's a grand spectacle of human endurance, intellect, and spirit. Buckle up for the ride of a lifetime in this thrilling journey that is 'The Great Race'.
