Plot

In the whimsical realm of King Midas, a mischievous elf pays an unexpected visit, demonstrating an enchanting ability to turn the ordinary into extraordinary gold. Intrigued by this incredible power, Midas, disregarding the elf's cautionary words, fervently wishes for the golden touch himself. His world transforms into a magical dance of joy as everything he grazes metamorphoses into gleaming gold. However, his delight swiftly turns to despair when he sits to dine. His once savoury feast morphs into inedible gold under his touch, and the grim reality of his wish sinks in. Fearful of facing a golden death by starvation, he beseeches the elf for redemption. Stripped of his joy, King Midas trades his golden curse for a life of simplicity. He surrenders his opulent possessions, once his pride, to revoke his wish. In the ironic twist of events, he finds a richer life in rags than he ever had in his golden kingdom. The Golden Touch is a tale of wishes gone awry, exploring the profound truth that all that glitters is not gold.
