Plot

In the quaint, seemingly innocuous town of Ashby Wake, a wandering drifter named Cassie is unexpectedly drawn into a labyrinth of mystique and intrigue. After enduring a car accident orchestrated by Marion Kirkman, she awakens with a blank memory. Kind-hearted Marion invites the bewildered Cassie to recover in her sprawling, antiquated manor, filled with the whispers of stories untold. As Cassie's memory remains shrouded in fog, she finds solace in the company of Michael, the inquisitive son of Marion's husband, Simon Kirkman. Michael's fascination with a newly unearthed First Century church, adorned with cryptic images of Jesus' crucifixion and a multitude of faceless onlookers, resonates with Cassie. Subtle threads of connection begin to weave themselves into her consciousness, leading her to experience chilling visions and forebodings involving the town's residents. Haunted by a growing sense of dread that a malevolent force is stalking the Kirkman family, Cassie descends into the town's hidden underbelly. Her quest for truth leads her to the doorstep of the enigmatic and unsavory mechanic, Frederick Michael Argyle. As Cassie peels back the layers of Ashby Wake's darkness, she unravels secrets steeped in both the human and the supernatural. Her discoveries about her own identity and her unearthly connection to the town's inhabitants leave her, and the viewer, in awe-struck surprise. The Gathering is a riveting journey into the heart of an ancient mystery, where the line between reality and the supernatural is as thin as a wisp of morning fog.
