In a world marinated in vice and virtue, 15-year-old Joshua Mason finds himself abandoned by his drugged-out, ex-stripper mother. Alone and homeless, he drifts into the fading Bohemian art idyll of Carmel, California. Joshua's unfortunate circumstance, interwoven with his remarkable artistic prowess, soon catches the eye of the town's affluent denizens. On his journey through this moneyed enclave, Joshua stumbles upon the lavish home of Everly Campbell, an artist with a secret. Intrigued, Joshua trespasses into Everly's covert studio, completing an unfinished project and unknowingly dipping his toes into the murky waters of art forgery. Everly, initially irked by this audacious breach, swiftly reevaluates his stance when he realizes Joshua's potential. He maneuvers the court system, cunningly positioning himself as Joshua's guardian.
